REVIEW: The Little Red Schoolhouse - Campton, NH

Hello Fellow Food Adventurers,

I wanted to share an adorable, delicious little eatery that my in-laws brought me to over Father's Day weekend called The Little Red Schoolhouse. It doesn't have a lot of seating and is only open seasonally but it is definitely worth the trip if you are craving fried bellied clams and a beautiful view.

When you first walk in you see their chalk board menu of what they still have available with an open kitchen that is always busy. Their menu consists of delicious seafood, classic burgers, and tasty sandwiches. I promise you there is something for everyone here. (Check out their full menu here)

They have beautiful tables made out of reclaimed wood, inside the main dining area which we deemed the tree house, and when its not rainy they also have picnic tables outside for you to enjoy. The view alone is worth the trip, the dining room portion sits slightly over a cliff giving you phenomenal views of the tree tops and the mountains around you.

But let me tell you its the food that will make you want to stay, these fried clams were some of the best I've ever had! instead of a breading they used a beer batter that was light and fluffy and did not take away from the delicious, fresh clams. They also serve them on a bed of freshly  cut french fries, side of coleslaw and homemade tarter sauce with a hint of dill.  YUMMMMM, my mother-in-law and I split this plate, IT WAS HUGE so make sure to come with an empty stomach.

They also have an adorable little store upfront that sells only locally made goods. Everything from mittens to goats milk soap, you will be able to find something you love for yourself or a great souvenir for a friend or family member.

If you are in the White Mountains definitely hit up The Little Red School House.
