Decadent Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

These were inspired by a coworker that brought in these cookies right before Christmas. They kind of remind me of fluffy oreos or a whoopie pie, I don't know if you've every had those fluffy oreos but they are absolutely delicious. This recipe was based of off Taste of Home recipe my coworker found online. I promise if you try these you will never think of oreos the same way again.

Cold Brewing Tea

Nowadays I like to start my day off with a cup of tea. Most of the time I boil some water and steep the tea. Recently I've been thinking about what tea would be like if I steeped it cold, is it even possible? Well of course I hopped on Google and searched around the web to see what I could do. What did I find you ask? Well I learned that you can brew tea cold!

How do you actually do it? Well according to The New York Times cold brewing tea is a "relatively slow and gentle process, proportions and times aren’t critical." Well what does that mean? Simply it means you can put a cup of filtered water, your tea bag or in my case my metal steeper with tea of your choice, and pop it in the fridge over night. When you wake up in the morning you will have a deliciously light tea that will remind you of a white tea.

Restaurant Review: Wegmans Tea Bar

So I've been going on this whole low to no caffeine thing and of course the best alternative is tea. Now I've been to Teavana before and I've bought tea there too, but wow is it expensive and its hard to buy things in small quantities. While I was cruising around Pittsford, NY after I got my hair done, I realized I didn't have anything for dinner so I decided to stop by my local Wegmans to grab a prepared dinner to munch on at home.

Free Lettuce Wraps at PF Changs

Hi Everyone,

So the one food I cannot get enough of are PF Changs' lettuce wraps. Every time my boyfriend, Alan and I go to PF Changs, we have to get them. I like them so much that i make lettuce wraps at home (find my recipe here). You know what they are doing that makes this girl super happy? They are giving everyone that signs up for their Warrior Rewards online, free lettuce wraps! That's right, FREE lettuce wraps.
Now they hand out cards if you sign up in the restaurant, but there is an option where if you don't have a card you can still sign up and if you "p
rovide your phone number [during sign up] you can give that to your server next time you dine with us to receive credit for your visit.”

Taco Salad

So this isn't the healthiest salad but it sure is one of the most delicious. I can eat seven tacos by myself but it only takes a bowl of taco salad to fix my taco craving.

  • French dressing (as much as you like)
  • 1/2 lb of ground beef
  • 1/2 packet of taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Guacamole
  • Lightly salted Fritos corn chips

Sunday Brunch Quiche

Hey All, as my first guest post here on Kat's food blog I'd thought I'd go with one of my all time favorites, the quiche. Now although the recipe is only for one quiche, I can speak from personal experience that if you're making it for any more than just you, you're going to have to make at least two. Luckily, this is an incredibly easy recipe and the portions are simple to multiple.

Pile it on Garbage Plates

After living in Rochester, NY for a few years I learned about the deliciousness of the garbage plate. Ok, it sounds weird and possibly disgusting but I promise you its absolutely delicious. There are a few garbage plate combinations you can enjoy, the possibilities are pretty endless: burger, cheeseburger, red or white hots, Italian sausage, and grilled cheese just to name a few.

The originator of the Garbage plate is Nick Tahou's. They even trade marked the name Garbage Plate for their scrumptious dish!

I hope you love it as much as I do!
